(More customer reviews)You should not have to be reminded that King Moonracer is the wise and benevolent ruler of the Island of Misfit Toys from the Bass-Rankin claymation Christmas special, "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer." This is the Misfits Deluxe Figure of King Moonracer, with a fuzzy mane, decent soft fuzz as the fake fur, a crown, wings, and six points of articulation: the top of all four legs, the neck, and the bottom of both wings. Most importantly, they got the eyes right on this figure.
King Moonracer stands about 6-8 inches tall, depending on how your pose him, and there are a lot of options (only the wing articulation is problematic because it is rather pointless). This makes him in scale with all other Rudolph Action Figures. Also included is the Misfit Toy Elephant Footman with the pink polka dots and a blue bellboy's hat. Playing Mantis had the Rudolph and Hermey figures out already, and heard both Cornelius with his dog sled team and Santa with his reindeer team will be out soon if they are not available already (Note: Stan Francis did the voice for both Moonracer and Santa).
"Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" is my favorite Christmas claymation special because of the creativeness they showed with the supporting cast, especially the unforgettable toys from the Island of Misfit Toys: Charlie-in-the-Box, the Spotted Elephant, and all the others, along with their leader, King Moonracer. The result is a much deeper version of the story than was even hinted at in the lyrics of Johnny Marks' classic Christmas song. You just have to wish they had not waited almost forty years to come out with all these cute toys.
