(More customer reviews)We've had this parrot for about five years. I have a handicapped child. I was trying to encourage her to talk, and Boy was this toy a big hit. She loves talking to it and hearing it parrot her (at first sounds, now words) back to her. When her big brother isn't around, she sets the bird up downstairs while she plays Wii...when she knocks down a lot of pins bowling, she says "YAY!!!!!" and the bird says back "YAYYYYY! YAYYYYYY!" and gives her a little audience. It's really quite hysterical. It repeats what you say twice, slightly faster and more highly pitched, so it's inherently funny to play with. And the beauty is, it says it twice and then the phrase is gone, so my teenage boy thinks it's pretty funny too. I imagine the poor parrot has said some interesting things, since he's usually passed around at least once at parties. But the last teen party we had, the parrot got broken after five years of really nearly daily use. I'm quickly replacing it before my daughter notices, because I think we'd have to bury the thing in the back yard with a full ceremony if she did.
