(More customer reviews)I bought two of the Terminator heads in early June. One for my six year old son and the other for my ten year old son. (Their birthdays are one day apart, and they both wanted a Terminator head/mask for their birthday.)
For what the mask is intended for, it's a great product. It's made of heavy duty plastic and seems to be very durable for rough play. My boys are not gentle by any means, and we've haven't had any problems with the masks despite the many drops and head-banging action.
The mask comes equipped with an on/off/demo switch (which is almost hidden under the front of the adjustable headband inside the mask) so remember to remind your kids to turn the mask off when they are done playing with it to save on battery life.
The eyes light up red when the mask is switched on, and when the kids have the masks on, you can look into the red eyes of the mask and see your child's little eyes looking back at you. It's a bit creepy but cool at the same time. I suggest trying it and you'll see what I mean.
The masks are quite large, so when kids wear them, they look like Terminator bobble heads because the heads are so big in comparison to childrens' body sizes. Even my 10 year old looked like a bobble head. Again, a bit creepy looking, but it's funny too and makes for some great pictures.
Our kids love to play with them, and when friends come over, it's one of the first things they grab to play with as well. The voice changer works like any other voice changer; just push the voice changer button and talk. When the other button is pushed (the sound button), you can hear various robotic/terminator noises or the sound of machine gun fire. My only complaint about the mask is that the location of the buttons are a bit high up on the side of the head, and because the buttons are rather small, they are hard to find when wearing the mask because you have to find them by touch alone. The mask surface is bumpy enough as it is.....to find those little buttons among the other bumps by touch (when wearing the mask) is a bit of a hunt. However, despite that, the mask is a great durable toy for anyone who enjoys roleplaying and loves Terminator.....or heck, someone who just loves to look scary and creepy.
